Privacy policy
This Artandshadow privacy policy applies to purchases on this site and the personal information used to support those purchases.
Information collected
Information you provide can include your name, billing and delivery addresses, contact details, order details and correspondence. Checkout also involves payment information handled by the payment service used for your purchase. Website interactions can generate device, session and usage information.
How we use your information
- Fulfilling and delivering orders: processing is necessary to perform the sale contract.
- Responding to customer support enquiries: processing supports performance of the contract or the legitimate interest in resolving your enquiry.
- Preventing fraud and keeping the site secure: processing supports legitimate interests in protecting customers and the store, or a legal obligation where one applies.
- Sending newsletter and marketing emails: processing is based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Orders may be automatically screened for fraud risk as a standard part of checkout processing.
Cookies, analytics and reviews
The site uses cookies necessary for core functions such as the cart and checkout session.
Google tagging through the Shopify Google & YouTube sales channel measures advertising and site analytics performance, uses Google's own cookies and tracking, and is governed by Google's privacy policy for information beyond what Artandshadow itself collects.
The store's review platform collects and displays product reviews, uses its own widget, cookies and analytics tracking, and governs its own processing through its privacy policy.
Non-essential advertising, analytics and review tracking controlled by the storefront's cookie-consent banner is based on consent. You can change or withdraw that consent through the available cookie controls.
Sharing information
Relevant information is shared with Shopify, the ecommerce platform running the store; the payment service used at checkout; delivery and carrier providers; Google through the Shopify Google & YouTube sales channel; and the store's review platform, as needed for the functions described above. The separate browser interaction with 17TRACK is explained below.
Some providers may process personal information outside your country as part of their operations. Appropriate legal safeguards apply to such transfers where required by law.
Order tracking
The order-tracking page provides a link to 17TRACK, a free third-party multi-carrier tracking service. When you enter a tracking number and click through, your browser sends that number directly to 17TRACK. Artandshadow's own servers never receive, process or store the number entered through this page.
The link is offered as part of fulfilling your purchase, on the lawful basis of performance of the sale contract. Because Artandshadow never receives the number through this interaction, there is no store retention period for it.
Once your browser sends the number to 17TRACK, 17TRACK's own privacy policy governs its use, retention and any international transfer. Review that policy before using the service.
Retention
Personal information is kept only as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Order and transaction records may be retained longer to meet applicable legal, tax or accounting obligations.
Customer rights
Depending on applicable law, you can request access to, correction or deletion of your personal information, restriction of processing or portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent at any time, including by unsubscribing from marketing emails. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
Contact Artandshadow using the details below to exercise your rights. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the applicable data protection authority in your jurisdiction.
