About this artwork
This anatomical heart sculpture places a clear vintage medical illustration inside a cubic, hand-welded steel structure. The transparent print and open metal frame interact with artificial or natural light, casting a focused shadow and creating a layered display of image, structure and depth.
The approximately 13 cm cube is formed from 6 mm solid steel bar. Its surface is polished to an antique silver sheen and protected with varnish. Acrylic glass protects the anatomical image. Handmade variations may occur between pieces.
