About this artwork
This two-piece mixed-media sculpture set divides a face into separate eye and lip compositions. The printed imagery has a subtle Pop Art newsprint treatment and is mounted in acrylic within two cubic steel frames. Displayed together, the cubes create a sensual, graphic face motif; they can also be positioned separately across a wall, desk or shelf.
The transparent printed layers and open steel structures respond to artificial or natural light. Their frames cast focused shadows that add depth and extend the shapes of the artwork onto the surrounding surface. The combination of antique silver-toned steel and graphic facial imagery suits contemporary living rooms, offices and design-focused interiors.
