About this artwork

This cubic metal sculpture presents a transparent architectural print derived from a vintage rose-window drawing by French architect Honoré Daumet, winner of the Prix de Rome in 1855. The image depicts a wheel window from the Église Saint-Léonard de Croissy-sur-Seine and is mounted between two acrylic panels.

The approximately 13 cm cubic frame is handmade without industrial production processes. It is welded from 6 mm mild-steel bar and polished by hand. Light passing through the transparent print changes the appearance of the piece and projects its geometric structure into the surrounding space. It suits an interior wall, desk or shelf and may appeal to collectors of architectural drawings, Gothic windows and dark-academia decor.
